Lane County Public Health, in partnership with PeaceHealth, is hosting a free community “fireside chat” with the 19th Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Vivek Murthy. The event will begin with a conversation between Dr. Murthy and Dr. Patrick Luedtke, Senior Public Health Officer for Lane County, followed by a question and answer portion with the audience.As America’s Doctor, Dr. Murthy created initiatives to tackle many of the nation’s most urgent public health issues, including alcohol, drugs and their impact on health; the opioid crisis; e-cigarettes and youth; and creating walkable communities. In 2017, he focused his attention on chronic stress and isolation as problems that have profound implications for health, productivity and happiness.All are welcome!
