Elisabeth Hartner became the Executive Director of the Oregon Public Health Association in the fall of 2023, bringing a deep commitment to advancing health equity and community wellbeing. With extensive experience implementing health initiatives across Oregon, including in rural areas, Elisabeth has worked in both community-level and state-wide organizations, as well as in local government. A strong advocate and supporter of social justice, she champions and advocates for policies and programs that create more equitable health outcomes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Washington University and a Master of Public Health in Global Maternal and Child Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Elisabeth enjoys kayaking, hiking, cycling, and exploring Oregon’s coastline. She lives in Portland with her beloved dog, Pancha.

 

Program Associate

Heather Daniel (she/her)

Heather Daniel joined the Oregon Public Health Association as a Program Associate in March 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Design with a minor in Art History from the University of Oregon. Heather has a diverse professional background, including teaching English both internationally and in Portland, as well as roles in marketing and communications. As a small business owner, she specializes in graphic design, website creation, company branding, photography, and custom artwork. Heather is passionate about social justice and integrating the arts and creativity into education and everyday life. She loves traveling, going to concerts, spending time with family and friends, and savoring exceptional coffee.
